Thought I'd write an article to explain the Sims 4 Rags To Riches challenge in a little more depth, and also to reintroduce the Sim I created for the challenge and to give you in an insight into her background , I covered it briefly in one of the videos (second I think) but I've added some more to it which I shall mention in the next live stream via our Twitch channel!

I love trying out different challenges for my Sims games and I just had to choose Rags To Riches as it's one of my favourites!

I've not tried this particular version of the challenge before, so it's more difficult than the previous one I had completed. The challenge I am participating in is The Rosebud Rags To Riches challenge created by EuphorialQueen (here is the link incase anyone wants to give it a try https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/792094/rosebud-challenge-can-you-become-a-sim-millionaire-euphorialqueen-update-08-14-2018)

The main goal is to gain 1,000,000 Simoleons in a single household, thus completing the Rosebud Trophy on the PS4. I created with some help on Twitch by our (who we like to call) our chief of The Realview Room Kim, meet Atlanta Poseidon an aspiring Artist fresh out of The Slice Of Art Academy.

Atlanta moved to Newcrest, a place she never knew existed, a relief because it meant that her family wouldn't have heard of it either!! Atlanta brought the biggest plot of land she could find promising herself that one day she'll own a luxurious house proving everyone that had laughed at her dream wrong.

I accidentally chose an extreme version of the challenge, one of the rules stated that I had to start on the biggest lot I could find which brought me to Newcrest, using the Rosebud Rules (Rule 1) I had to start with 0 Simoleons in my first video,I had no idea what the cheat code was and didn't want to break game play trying to find out so I just brought expensive decorative pieces for Atlanta's future house I left it at 650 instead of 0 because of bills, so instead of starting a job when Atlanta reached 500 Simoleons I'm going to wait until she has got 1,200 as she had more money than she should have. I'm not far off either as Atlanta currently has 970 Simoleons (from our second stream) selling her art at the Art centre in San Myshuno and her fossil that she had also collected.

I did finally find the cheat code for my third video but messed up typing it out so I thought instead of messing around I'll just buy the decorative pieces again as a way to lower funds. Atlanta just needs to spend another day painting she will then finally have enough Simoleons to start her painting career!!

I have actually saved Atlanta to the Library and brought her to a new save game because I want to collect the trophies!! Especially the Rosebud trophy as that's how we complete the challenge!! She has all the skills she had gained from the previous save and I made sure she had the same amount of Simoleons as the previous game to and she's back in the same Lot.

Newcrest was a free neighbourhood given to Simmers in a patch by The Sims Team due to Simmers requesting more lots. Newcrest comes with no premade houses or Lots allowing Simmers to create and build Newcrest however they would like, which is an amazing opportunity for the builders in the Simming Community. Atlanta was very lonely on her own in the neighbourhood to liven Newcrest up, I added some Lots and families into the neighbourhood (exception of The Pancake Family) during two of my streams, I've since gone back and changed Newcrest again and have left some Lots bare, ready for when I finally get some more Sim packs (please please bring out some sales for us console players)

I've added a toddler into The Pancake household whom reside in WIllow Creek and placed a married couple made by The Sims Community from my Library I edited them so that they also had a toddler and a cute dog!! They live opposite Atlanta . I moved in another Sim, again created by The Sims Community from my Library because I thought she looked pretty awesome!! She lives in Newcrest to. I'm a little limited as to what Lots and Sims I can add because I can't cheat which means no motherlode ( a cheat that gives you 50,000 a time) I can't move Townie or Sims from the Library to expensive houses without it, there never seems to be any rich Townies , the default amount a Townie has is 20,000 Simoleons, I have ticked the option to auto-fill houses so fingers crossed some of the expensive houses get occupied!!

Rule 2. (there's quite a few in this challenge)

To have a room with a door, a window, a toilet with a sink , fridge for quick meals and somewhere for each sim to sleep. Once I have done this, Atlanta is then able to ask someone to move in with her, yay!! Atlanta in between work and painting, needs to start socialising more to make friends and hopefully meet her future partner!! I'm thinking Caleb Vatore from the Vampire Game Pack. You'll be able to see what it is to be a Vampire in The Sims world, it is quite fangtasatic!- you get it? ;)

Caleb wants to be a good Vampire so he eats Plasma Fruit (which green thumbed Sims can plant and grow), I will also give Caleb a makeover with your help!!

I would love for you all via The Realview Room Facebook page or The Realview Roomies Facebook group or even here on our website (www.therealviewroom.com) to have your say, shall we set her up with Caleb? or choose another suitor? If it doesn't work out between the two that's fine, only the main Sim (Atlanta) is required to stay at the house, other members may move out and leave.

Rule 3.

he Lifespan has to be set to Normal- Youth potions are allowed as long as I've earned the perk points to be able to buy them.

Rule 4.

I'm only allowed to purchase/build on the lot once a week (I'm choosing Mondays) if I forget to add anything from build or buy mode I have to wait a Sim week. Exceptions for this rule would be books, repair parts or seeds as they can be purchased via computer, bookcase or planter box. There is a flea market festival as well at a district in San Myshuno, so I'd be able to buy items there to without restrictions. Atlanta will also be able to sell her art on a stall there.

Rule 5.

I have to stay at this Lot I can either build upon it myself or use my Library to find and place a house onto this Lot. However start off small and slow at first as more furniture and objects (especially expensive items) make the bills costly.

Rule 6.

Complete the challenge without a traditional career. Think along the lines of Spy, Astronaut or perhaps Crime Boss.

Rule 7.

Complete an aspiration you have not tried before.
