The Sims 4 Island Living was finally confirmed Saturday 8th June at the Ea Play event during one of the biggest gaming conventions of the year E3. Taking charge of The Sims 4 conference were, The Sims 4 General Manager Lyndsay Pearson and The Sims 4 Senior Producer Micheal Duke they dived straight in with Island Living the new Sims 4 expansion pack which is due to be released June 21st for PC/Mac players. It's released only a little later for console players on 16th July. Let's delve right into the juicy information shared at the event.
The new world coming in this expansion pack is the Island Sulani, it is not a vacation world, meaning that your sims can move in straight from Create A Sim!! Even on a lot next to an active volcano at your Sims own peril... But instead of moving in a normal/Alien/Vampire Sim you can create a Mermaid!! They come with various tail skin and eye CAS options.
Mermaids also possess Merpowers, the Sim Gurus didn't really elaborate this but Lyndsay hinted that there is a mystery surrounding the Mermaids. Sim Guru Duke also recommended that players try meet a dolphin. There are also new traits to choose from in CAS.
Sims can enjoy the crystal clear waters in a variety of ways by going canoeing and fishing, riding the waves on the Aqua-Zips or they can explore the deep and go Scuba Diving they'll be able to bring home pictures of the beautiful reef and any sealife. For those that want to kick back and relax they can sunbathe on some very bright and colourful towels or on a lounger in the sea hopefully they'll remember sun cream!!
Sims will tan and get tan lines from where their clothes which is a nice little touch. Sims can now also build sandcastles on the beach which is great for families. Toddlers can splash in the shallow parts of the ocean and can wear armbands, how cute!! Sims can also go looking for seashells. Pesky mischievous sims can cause havoc by smashing other Sims sand castles or by pranking those sunbathing with suncream.
Want a way to quickly earn a few extra Simoleons? you can pick up small jobs whenever you want by being a freelance Diving Instructor or a Lifeguard.
The conconservation career encourages your Sim to clean up the Island getting rid of litter and plastic.
The Island has a great ecosystem and if you look after the Island it will be lush with lots of greenery, flowers, butterflies and plentiful fish. It will change over time if your Sims do not continue to maintain the Island. The elemental spirits are a part of the Islands unique traditions they care very deeply for their Island and will be greatly pleased if it is well looked after, beware to face the consequences if their beloved Island is neglected!
You can move into stunning houses right on the ocean, Sims needing a quick way to cool down can just jump straight in to the lush water for a swim. In the event that you accidentally start a fire neighbours will come to assist and help you out.
Neighbours may also have festivals or start bbqs , there is a
fire pit included in this expansion pack the food gets wrapped up in leaves before being place on the pit and cooked. There will be new recipes for sims to discover and learn.
