Agatha Harkness Spin Off Series Update!

Wandavision was a show that brought joy to fans around the world in so many ways, we got to see Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff reunite with her beloved Vision (Paul Bettany) once again after his demise in the infinity saga films. We also got to see her become a mother and eventually become the infamous Scarlet Witch. But there was another role that intrigued fans and had tongues wagging right from the very start of the series. Little did we know that this character would be the one to give Wanda the news of who she really is and what devastation she is capable of. Of course we are talking about Agatha Harkness!

It's very likely if you're a Wandavision fan, then you will have become intrigued by the character development of Kathryn Hahn's Agnes as the nosey neighbour who later revealed her true identity as the bewitching Agatha Harkness towards the end of the 9 episode Disney+ series.

By the end of the series Agatha was left in the town of Westview, New Jersey - where Wanda's Hex was situated. Remaining in "the nosey neighbour" role under Wanda's control. This of course left fans desperate for more of Hahn's antagonistic persona. Particularly, big fans of Marvel Comics. And here's the reason why...

Agatha Harkness plays a huge role in the life of The Scarlet Witch within the graphic novel storylines. She is Wanda's mentor in magic and the dark arts. This is something we didn't get to see in the Wandavision series as technically Wanda doesm't become infamous Scarlet Witch until the series' finale episode, even if the harbinger of chaos and creation of Cthon has been lying dormant all this time. So when Marvel Studios and Disney+ announced their plans for House of Harkness, this really did get fans excited! The series could either be a prequel to Wandavision or take place after the Westview anomaly was taken down. We are yet to find out. However, there is a lot of speculation that due to Elizabeth Olsen taking a short break from her busy acting schedule (and rightly so), that Wanda will not be appearing in Kathryn's upcoming House of Harkness show. So this could provide quite a free range for the writers of the show also.

Speaking of writers, it has been heavily rumoured over the last couple of days that House of Harkness may have already landed their script writers. A popular and pretty good source on the Reddit website (so take this with a grain of salt) has mentioned that the writers for the series have already been revealed as the brilliant Jac Shaeffer (confirmed), who was in fact the head writer of Wandavision and also Peter Cameron who wrote two episodes for the same series as well as the episodes titled "The Tomb" and "The Friendly Type" for Marvel's Moon Knight series which starred Oscar Isaac. Cameron Squires is another that is said to be working on House of Harkness, he also worked on Wandavision and wrote the episode "Breaking The Fourth Wall" and Laura Donney who wrote "Previously On" for you guessed it, Wandavision.

This is pretty exciting news for the House of Harkness series, a lot of writers returning from Agatha's origin series and even one of them who had also worked on Moon Knight, which has turned out to be the most brutal series from Marvel we have seen so far! So this could mean even more dark twists and turns for this villain. It will also be very interesting to see if we get to hear a reprise of the infectious ear worm that is "Agatha All Along". Who knows?

We cannot wait to see what these the imagination of these talented people will provide for Agatha!

House Of Harkness starring Kathryn Hahn is expected to air on the Disney+ streaming service in 2023.
