Daredevil Season 4 Picked Up By Disney+

Fans of Charlie Cox's Daredevil, it's time to share your excitement! It has been announced this week that the popular Marvel and Netflix show (undoubtedly the most popular out of the Marvel Netflix series') has indeed been picked up to continue with season 4 over on the Disney+ streaming service. Charlie Cox's portrayal of blind lawyer Matt Murdock is impeccable and loved by many around the world. After the series along with many other Marvel shows streaming on Netflix were cancelled, fans were left pleading for more Daredevil!

Thankfully, (spoiler alert if you've not yet seen Spiderman: No Way Home, although it was released in December of 2021) Marvel Studios gave fans exactly what they had asked for. To see Cox's Matt Murdock appear once more.

After much speculation and leaks for the film, the actor briefly reprised his role in a short scene within No Way Home as Peter Parker's lawyer due to false criminal accusations made against him by Jake Gyllenhall's Mysterio at the end of Spiderman: Far From Home.

But still, as fans of Daredevil, that is not enough. So it seems our prayers have been answered by the Marvel and Disney Gods! Hallelujah!

However this is not the only tease that we have been given by Marvel Studios and Disney. We were also gifted with scenes of another well known character from the Daredevil series recently over on Disney+ in one of their latest shows. The series Hawkeye, which starred Jeremy Renner returning as Clint Barton and newcomer to the MCU Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, gave us one of our favourite antagonists that is affiliated with the devil of Hell's Kitchen. Again spoiler alert in 3, 2,1....

The brilliant Vincent D'Onofrio appeared on our screens again as Kingpin. We see him puppeteering the likes of Eleanor Bishop (Kate's mother) and the sister of Black Widow, Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) for his own criminal gains.

Due to these two appearances alone, it is clear that Marvel studios and Disney aren't anywhere near finished with these fan favourites. And all we can do now is wait for the highly anticipated season 4 of Daredevil.

What do we know so far about season 4?

It is rumoured that this series is in the very early stages of production. The writers of the series have also been hired and officially announced as Matt Corman and Chris Ord. As this news is still very new at this point in time, it is highly unlikely that we will be expecting an airing date any time soon. We expect that we won't even see any sort of trailer for the series until at least mid 2023. With so many other projects under way also at Marvel Studios, it maybe quite some time before filming for season 4 actually begins.

What is next for Matt Murdock?

In the meantime, there may be a glimmer of hope as there is high amounts of speculation circling around the web that Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock is also expected to show up in the upcoming She-Hulk Attorney At Law series on Disney+ which will be streaming from 17th August this year. Marvel and Disney have just released a trailer for the series which has left many intrigued and eager to discover more about Tatiana Maslany's Jennifer Walter (She-Hulk), but also a little disappointed with the current CGI shown in the newly released footage of the show. As our new green hero is actually a lawyer, it is highly likely that we will see her come face to face with Murdock in their line of work.

Whether we see Charlie Cox appear in She-Hulk or not, the announcement of Daredevil season 4, is still huge news for fans of the series and we, along with thousands of others can't wait to see what else Marvel and Disney have in store for Matt Murdock in the future.
