Oscar Isaac and Director Mohammed Diab Seemingly Confirm Moon Knight Season 2!

Earlier this year (2022), we were introduced to the Marvel Studios and Disney+ series Moon Knight. The Marvel Comics character may not be as well known as others such as the line up of The Avengers or The X-Men, but actor Oscar Isaac brought not only Moon Knight, but also multiple other personalities to life for us all to enjoy.

The first season of Moon Knight was quite a success with the Marvel fandom in particular, with many longing to see Marvel's equivalent to Batman (as many have labelled the character) to be brought into live action projects. Season 1 left us with quite the cliff-hanger, meaning that fans have been hoping to see more.

Kevin Feige and many cast members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe took to the stage in Hall H at San-Diego Comicon 2022 to share announcements of many upcoming projects which included both movies and Disney+ shows. Feige showed an array of titles including most that we were already aware of such as Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, Ant-Man and The Wasp Quantumania, the Secret Invasion series, a very emotional Black Panther Wakanda Forever trailer as well as not one, but two Avengers movies in phase 6!

Many fans, including myself were a little disappointed with the fact that most of the projects announced, were already ones that we were aware of, with the exception of the announcement of a new Daredevil Series which is made up of a whopping 18 episodes, coming to the Disney+ streaming service. After staying up late until stupid o'clock in the morning with a friend to watch the panel live, I and many others it appeared seemed to be asking the same question. Are there no more plans for Moon Knight? Why introduce us to new characters such as this one if there is now follow up story for them in the future of the MCU.

With all that being said, there were clearly gaps within the phase 5 and phase 6 timelines, leaving room for many more projects to be announced at a later date. Which we can only assume that they will be shared with us officially at Disney's D23 Expo in September. Considering Disney owns Marvel now, its only fair that some huge announcements for future projects are left for such an occasion. Maybe they would have announced Moon Knight season 2 there perhaps? Nope... It would appear that both director of the Lunar Crusader series Mohammed Diab and Oscar Isaac himself have shared the exciting news that many fans have wanted to hear. Although this is not been declared as official news in the eyes of the all seeing MCU God Kevin Feige.

The news broke on social media - our source was a TikTok video that seemed to appear in our "for you" feed. Within minutes the video went viral and was shared on all major media sites. The video shows a young woman situated on a boat with none other than Mohammed Diab where she asks the question "What many fans want to know is...Are we getting a season 2?" to which Diab then looks somewhat surprised and asks the rhetorical question "Moon Knight?" Seconds later we see the face of Oscar Isaac (the lead role in the series) slowly lean in to then say "Why else would we be in Cairo?"

To some this may mean nothing, you might even be thinking what has this statement about travel got to do with the Moon Knight series. For those of you that are not familiar with the show, the majority of it takes place in Egypt as the plot centres around ancient Egyptian history and artefacts. So yea, these two being spotted in Cairo together is a very big deal for fans of the show.

You can watch the video including my initial reaction below:

So who's excited for more Moon Knight? Do you think the character could be introduced to the film too? This is definitely something I know that I am hoping for. Fingers Crossed!
