Our Game Guru's Favourite Console RPGs!!

To kick off RPG day, Aran and I thought that we would create a list of our favourite console RPGs (hence the title) there are a LOT to choose from so it took us a little while deciding and sticking with our options. I wonder if you'll agree with our list. Fallout 4(2015)

Created by Bethesda

Available for: PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

The game takes place in a post apocalyptic world in Boston and the surrounding Massachusets area, known as "The Commonwealth". You can find a number of landmarks like Bunker Hill and the Old North Bridge.

"The Commonwealth" is heavily populated with dangerous enemies and creatures. You can gain companions to help navigate you through this crazy world! Each one has their own unique backstory and perks which you'll gain as improve your relationship with them.

You can also create and make your own settlements, you can set up shop stalls which will help you earn some money.

You'll need a decent defense agaisnt raiders though!! It's a good thing that you can give Settlers guns and armor! Every aspect of your character can be customised. From face sculpting to hair styles players that (like me) love creating characters will not be disappointed. Rating out of 5: This game gets a solid 5/5 from us!!

Skyrim (2011)

Created by: Bethesda,

Available on: All consoles

Initially released on every single console possible and you can also play a version of Skyrim on Alexa devices. If you have an Alexa I highly recommend you do it, her saying oh no, there is a frost spider is hilarious. Skyrim is the perfect representation of high fantasy that you can come to expect from Lord of The Rings and Game of Thrones.

With in-depth lore which carries on from previous game installments in the series. Although they are standalone games so you don't need to have played the previous to enjoy and understand this one.

There is vast character customisation with a variety of different races to choose from. There is a ton of different builds you can create whether you want to have a character that attacks from a distance using range to melee to magic, the choice is yours. It is worth creating an multitude of builds just to see which one you're best suited to.

You could easily spend 100+ hours completing the story and exploring the world of Skyrim.

Rating out of 5: Another 5/5 from us!

Assassin's Creed: Valhalla (2020)

Created by: Ubisoft

Available for: PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5 and Xbox Series x. Valhalla is a visually stunning open world game, set during the Viking Era. This Viking experience is like no other! You play as a Viking named Eivor! You have the choice of gender which you can switch at any given time. To expand upon your customisation of Eivor , you can find tattoo sheets flying in the wind to unlock more options. The rarer sets of armour can only be found through discovery and puzzle solving. The game utilises the new combat system that was first introduced in Assassins Creed:Origins.

The skill tree system is expansive and accommodates to your play style, you can change your skills whenever you like to try out different ways to play or different character builds.

We highly recommend this game

The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt (2015)

Created by: CD PROJECKT RED.

Available for: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S. Wander across the mighty beautiful fantasy setting as The Witcher Geralt De Rivia, a monster hunter that is on a mission to find Ciri a child of prophecy. Investigate forgotten ruins, caves and shipwrecks for you might find some valuable armor or weapons there.

Visit villages, towns and cities trade with the various merchants within them, you might be requested to pick up some side requests, some of which are a weird but very entertaining. Jess' personal favourite is having to find a statue's missing genitalia. The game is full of interesting and intriguing characters. Every decision you make they will have impactful consequences and there are multiple endings which gives the game great replayabilitiy. The Witcher 3 is honestly our favourite RPG of all time, the graphics are just stunning and the story is phenomenal, we also love the characters
