As part of our Star Wars Day content for 2022, I thought it would be fun to share my thoughts about one of my favourite ever video games linked to the brand.
I give you - Star Wars: Obi-Wan Xbox (North America 2001- Europe 2002)
Obi-Wan was one of the first Xbox games that I owned. An Action-Adventure game created by Lucas Arts. The combat in this game was brilliant! I loved that when you moved right analogue stick in specific ways, it would then make the player controlled Obi Wan wield his lightsaber with a variety of moves, which in turn became very handy for deflecting blasters and laser based attack!! You could deflect them right back at the enemies (mostly droids) that fire at you! Very satisfying when it worked and took down enemies in moments.
Obi-Wan could also use a variety of force powers, making him jump up higher, slow down time, move objects and disarm enemies.
The story returned to the plot of Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.
There was also a co-op mode, where you could choose from a selection of Jedi (you unlock them throughout the game as you proceed) and battle against a friend, in my household we would play round after round of winner stays on, my family and I spent so many hours playing this mode, although for this mode, Qui Gon Jinn was my go to Jedi.
Obi-Wan on Xbox is certainly a game that will remain as a treasured memory for me. I will always be grateful to this game for the hours of joy that it gave to me.
